Scrapbooking

Hey guys! Yesterday I bought a new scrapbook and some extra spreadsheets. In the pack with the spreadsheets were die-cut alphabet letters and some other cute stuff. I thought the cover of the scrapbook was a little plain despite the design along the bottom. So I took some craft glue and some die cut letters and put my name on it using craft glue and here are my results! I need to print out some more pictures so the inside will be just as beautiful as the outside! -D

Changes

Changes. Hmmm..there are many things that can be said about this subject. I don't like to refer to my growth as me changing. I'm the same person as before, just better now. I like to think of it as an "upgrade". I like to upgrade myself on a constant basis. If I didn't, I'd still be in Jersey surround by misery. I chose to rise above. That was a major part of "upgrading" for me. As someone who has never been hundreds of miles away from family for a long period of time, deciding to come to Virginia has been a BIG decision. I am SO glad to have made that investment in myself; MANY DOORS ARE OPEN, AND I AM GOING TO POLITELY ENTER THEM AND HANDLE MY BUSINESS. Well, g2g now. Have a peer educator training! XOXO, Dejah

Love & Basketball ♥

For those who may not know it, today Wednesday 21, 2010, marks the 10 year anniversary of the movie "Love and Basketball" . It is one of my favorite movies, as it isn't the traditional love story. It involves one of my favorite things, the sport of basketball. Its not they type of movie that could be easily described, and I have a way with words. If you've never seen it, I'm not going to ruin it for you, but instead will highly recommend it. For those who have seen it, a blog site I like had dedicated all posts this week to that wonderful movie. The site is www.NakedWithSocksOn.com It has many other things, and I highly recommend that as well. Until next post!

Don't Be Afraid...

If you need help, PLEASE seek it! Its not that hard. Do not be embarrassed nor ashamed. Everybody goes through things and you are not alone. If you do not seek help, your situation can worsen. You don't have to hit rock bottom. That's my piece for the day! =]

Survivor Stories

I am a Peer Educator on my campus and we had a program called "Take Back the Night" which is a program for people who were sexually assaulted, raped, abused in any way, etc. to Take Back the Night of the incident that happened to them. We had a wonderful and brave woman named Ms. Davette who came to share her testimony with us. She had been brutally attacked with a MACHETE by someone she previously was in a relationship with after she got out of that relationship. Stories like that make my faith even stronger because I feel as though there's only one way: she is here for a purpose and I admire her strength. A lot of us had as we shared stories of our own lives, which also took a lot of courage. If your area doesn't have programs like these, they are not that difficult to get started. Various search engines can help get you started.

Togetherness?

Group projects. -_- Oh, how I HATE group projects. There seems to be NO togetherness whatsoever! Being the loner I like to think I am, I prefer to work ALONE. Its far less stressful. ESPECIALLY being in a group full of females. smh

Random Rant on Love

OK so this will be EXTREMELY brief seeing as though I have a paper due in a few hrs I have to finish.. Love. We hear about it several times each day. But the initial question is: do we really want it? I for one have NO idea on what I want (but that's just me). I don't really believe in nor agree with love. People are weird xP lol I do in fact acknowlegde that I AM in love..with...LOVE. I feel as though we all are. The media alters our personal views opinions and ideas concerning love. Females for one tend to fall in love with the traits a character from a movie, book, etc. possess. One may think "oh, I want a love like THAT" or "where's MY (insert character name here)?!?!" End rant. Feel free to state opinions and such. Peace and love be with all.

Moving on?

When you start to abandoning your old beliefs or values... you may be stuck at the threshold for two or three years. Before moving on, you have to clear away your cherished beliefs. Here's another quote: Life is about making the right decisions and moving on. But the thing is, how do you know what the right decision is?
