A new poem I wrote on 9/21/09 that I performed on 9/22/09 at "Showtime at the APEllo" Hosted by the Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Hope you enjoy

At my school I took on a leadership position to show around our new students and make them feel welcome. Going thru our training, we also have to follow. A good leader must also know how to follow. If they don't then, how can they truly be a good leader? Makes you think some huh? My main point basically is you have to see from others perspectives while attempting to lead someone. If someone who was your peer who was guiding you and was talking down to you, how would you respond? How would that make you feel? Just some food for thought when you want to lead someone or are considering it..

Once a happy little bird, without a care I would fly And now I'm chained to the ground looking up at the sky Its Easy when you're in the air without limits and you soar But difficult when you're grounded and someone says "You'll fly no more!" How do you tell someone you love they're keeping you from your dream? That they now seem like an enemy, but should belong to your team Once of of my biggest fans and a great ally Now you've turned into an opressor making my true feelings hide But its time for me to release them, for the times long overdueI will break these chains and fly free once more: I can no longer live for you July 4th, 2009 Nadejah D. This is an original poem by me written on June 8, 2009. I hope you enjoy it. What would I do without you? You're like my air; without you I'd surely suffocate, I'd give up a lung so I could be with you-- For I could survive with only one: but how would I live without my heart? Baby, you know that we're too in love to part; maybe it'll help if we went back to the start. Lets re-evaluate everything, lets work on US and not just you and me. We've weathered the storm plenty of times before and if we strengthen our bond, there won't be too much more. So please, erase your mind of doubt as we begin to work things out and achieve the bliss that we so rightly deserve--as US . p.s. feedback would be nice =]
